Network Communication and Information Systems

This hands-on, lab-oriented course is an intensive introduction to multi-user, multi-tasking network operating systems.  Characteristics of Linux/UNIX, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers will be discussed.  Students will explore a variety of topics including installation procedures, storage, file systems, administration, security issues, back-up procedures and remote access.  This course helps students prepare for CompTIA’s Server+ and Network+ certifications.
